2nd Annual UP Northwoods Triathlon

The Northern Lights YMCA is excited to once again host a local triathlon favorite. The swim will take place in beautiful Lake Antoine, a clear and calm lake; the bike and run will be scenic routes surrounding the lake. There will be three events including a Youth Triathlon, SprintTriathlon, and an Olympic Distance Triathlon.
Not ready for all three events? Compete as part of a 3-person team in the team division. Awards will be given in several age categories in each course as well as to top teams in both the Sprint and Olympic Events.

Youth Triathlon: Swim 200 Feet, Bike 2 Mi, Run 1/2 Mi
Sprint Triathlon: Swim 500 Meters, Bike 17 Mi, Run 5K
Olympic Distance Triathlon: Swim 1500 Meters, Bike 40K Mi, Run 10K
Registration
I have never been in a triathlon, will there be training?
Yes! We are offering both a Swim Clinic to work specifically on your swimming and a Triathlon Preparation Class to get tips from our local experts.
What is the temperature in Iron Mountain that time of year?
According to Weather.com, the average high is 80 degrees and the average low is 55 degrees. We are starting the events early on Sunday morning in hopes to avoid direct sunlight in the late afternoon.
Where shoud I park?
Limited parking will be available at Lake Antoine County Park. There will be a $5 admission fee for each vehicle entering the park. The fee is good for the whole season. We are also looking into additional parking.

Will there be awards?
Yes! There will be awards for age group winners as well as top male and female finishers in each event.
When is the last day to register?
The last day to register will be Friday, June 29th.
Where should I stay?
Last year we had two great hotel sponsors. We will post information on this soon.
Where do I pick-up my race packet?
Packets must be picked up between 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM Saturday, June 30th at Lake Antoine County Park OR 6:00-7:00 AM Sunday, July 1st. Chip Timers will be distributed prior to the start of your event.
What is the cancellation policy?
Sorry, there are no refunds or deferrals to future years.
