Northern Lights YMCA Swim Team

You will learn the fundamental skills of competitive swimming as well as proper stroke technique during the swim team season. This team focuses on team building and uses competition as a tool to teach the values of discipline, self-improvement and sportsmanship.  Participants between the ages of 6-18 and swimming ability equivalent to the YMCA Guppy skill level are welcome. 


2011-2012 Practice Schedule
Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays
5:00 - 7:00 PM*
*Practice groups and times will be determined depending on the amount of swimmers participating in each swim level.


Cost
$230 First Swimmer*
$190 each additional Swimmer*

*Participants must be an annual YMCA member.

• NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER
• We had another successful meet!  Lots of swimmers had personal bests.  Congratulations, swimmers!
• Congratulations to our swimmers on a successful first swim meet in Houghton!
• OCTOBER NEWSLETTER
• TEAM PICTURES - Thursday, November 3rd @ 6:00 PM : Please wear your team suit for pictures and be prompt.  Individual pictures will take place before and after the team photo.  Orders are optional and forms will be available in the team information folder on the pool deck. 
• SUIT ORDERS ARE DUE!  If you plan to order a team suit, order forms and payment are due to the front desk, tomorrow (Tuesday, October 18th).
• Meet Information will be posted on the communication board in the pool area and also online (above).
• Please be sure to turn in all of your registration forms.  Communication will be sent through the email address provided by each parent/guardian.
• An informational parent meeting will be held Wednesday, October 5th at the YMCA - 5:30 PM to provide information on practices, swim meets, swim suits, and answer any other questions you might have.

  Financial Assistance
  No one is turned away from the YMCA due to an inability to pay.  If you would like to be apart of our Northern Lights Swim Team and the fees are a problem, ask about our Strong Kids Scholarship assistance program.  Thanks to many generous donations, we strive to make our programs available to all.  Fees can be adjusted according to your income.  Applications are available at the YMCA front desk.
